Health Sharing
Sharing Your Health with Family (Following)
Follow family members and share your health data securely, so you can stay connected to the people who matter most.
Sunu's Following feature lets you share your health data with family members and trusted people in your life — and see theirs in return. It's designed for spouses, parents, adult children, and caregivers who want to stay connected without constant check-in calls.
Turning On Health Sharing
Before anyone can follow you, you need to enable sharing of your own health data.
Step 1: Navigate to the Profile tab
Step 2: Tap Health Data Sharing
Step 3: Toggle Share my health data on
Your health data will now sync securely to Sunu Cloud so that people you approve can view a summary. Sharing stays off by default — you can toggle it off at any time.
Following Someone
Step 1: Open Profile → Health Data Sharing
Step 2: Tap the Follow Someone button
Step 3: Enter their email address
Step 4: Choose a relationship type (Family, Partner, Caregiver, Friend)
Step 5: Tap Send Request
The person will receive an in-app request. Once they accept, you'll see their health summary in the Following section.
Handling Follow Requests
When someone wants to follow you:
Step 1: You'll see an incoming request under Pending Requests
Step 2: Tap Accept to allow them to see your health summary, or Reject to deny
Rejected requests can always be re-sent later if you change your mind.
Viewing a Family Member's Health
Once a follow request is accepted, their health summary appears under Following in the Health Data Sharing screen. Tap any person to see:
- Recent activity and step count
- Sleep summary
- Latest vitals (heart rate, HRV, etc.)
- Overall health scores
You'll only see what they've shared — they control the level of detail.
Removing a Relationship
You can remove someone from your followers or unfollow someone at any time:
Step 1: Go to Profile → Health Data Sharing
Step 2: Find the person under Following or Followers
Step 3: Tap the person, then choose Remove
This immediately revokes access in both directions for that relationship.
Privacy & Control
- You can turn off sharing entirely from the master toggle — this disconnects all relationships at once.
- You always control what's synced. Sunu Cloud stores only what's needed to generate the health summary; raw health data stays on your device by default.
- Relationships are two-sided — the other person has to accept before anyone sees anything.
- You can remove a relationship at any time with no notice to the other party.
👨👩👧 Caregiver Tip
For aging parents or family members with chronic conditions, Following is designed to be low-effort. Once set up, the summary refreshes automatically — no need for daily check-ins unless you want them.
