Managing Your Plus Subscription

Learn how to manage, change, or cancel your Sunu Plus subscription through your Apple ID or Google Play account.

If you are a Sunu Plus subscriber, you can manage your subscription directly through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).


Accessing Subscription Settings

Step 1: Navigate to the Profile tab

Step 2: Tap on "Subscription"

Step 3: View your current subscription status


Subscription Status

What You'll See

Active subscription:

  • Plan type (Monthly or Annual)
  • Next billing date
  • Renewal price
  • Payment method
  • Subscription start date

No subscription:

  • Free tier information
  • Plus benefits available
  • Subscription options
  • Pricing details

Managing Your Subscription

Step 1: On the Subscription screen, tap "Manage Subscription"

Step 2: This opens the official App Store subscription management screen

Step 3: Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password


What You Can Do

View Subscription Details

Information available:

  • Current plan and pricing
  • Next billing date
  • Payment method on file
  • Subscription history
  • Available options

Change Your Plan

Switch between plans:

  • Monthly to Annual (save money)
  • Annual to Monthly (more flexibility)
  • Different tier options (if available)

How to switch:

Step 1: In App Store subscriptions, tap your Sunu subscription

Step 2: View available options

Step 3: Select the plan you want

Step 4: Confirm the change

What happens:

  • Monthly → Annual: Charged immediately for annual plan, prorated credit applied
  • Annual → Monthly: Change takes effect at end of annual period

Cancel Your Subscription

To cancel:

Step 1: In App Store subscriptions, tap Sunu

Step 2: Tap "Cancel Subscription"

Step 3: Confirm cancellation

Step 4: Subscription remains active until end of current billing period

What happens after cancellation:

  • Plus features remain active until period ends
  • No refund for unused time
  • Automatically reverts to free tier
  • Can resubscribe anytime

Update Payment Method

To change payment:

Step 1: In App Store, go to Account settings

Step 2: Tap "Payment & Shipping"

Step 3: Add or update payment method

Step 4: Changes apply to all App Store subscriptions


Restoring Purchases

If you have reinstalled the app or got a new device, you can restore your active subscription.

When to Restore

Use restore if:

  • Reinstalled Sunu on same device
  • Switched to new iPhone
  • Subscription shows inactive but you're still paying
  • Plus features not working despite active subscription

How to Restore

Step 1: Go to Profile > Subscription

Step 2: Tap "Restore Purchases"

Step 3: Wait a few seconds for verification

Step 4: App checks App Store for active subscriptions

Result:

  • Active subscription detected and applied
  • Plus features re-enabled
  • Subscription status updated

Payment Processing

When you're charged:

  • At subscription start
  • Each billing cycle
  • Auto-renewal (can be disabled)
  • Through Apple ID payment method

What the charge shows as:

  • "Apple.com/bill" on statement
  • Or "Apple Inc"
  • Not directly as "Sunu"
  • Check App Store purchase history

Free Trial

If available:

  • Trial period length
  • When charging begins
  • How to cancel before charged
  • What happens after trial

Trial conditions:

  • New subscribers only
  • One trial per Apple ID
  • Must cancel before trial ends to avoid charge
  • Full access during trial

Subscription Issues

Not Seeing Plus Features

Troubleshooting:

Step 1: Verify subscription is active

  • Check App Store subscriptions
  • Confirm it's not expired
  • Check for failed payment

Step 2: Try restoring purchases

  • Profile > Subscription > Restore Purchases

Step 3: Restart the app

  • Force quit and reopen
  • Features should appear

Step 4: Contact support if unresolved

  • Provide subscription receipt
  • Include Apple ID (email only)
  • Describe the issue

Payment Failed

Common causes:

  • Expired credit card
  • Insufficient funds
  • Payment method removed
  • Billing address issue

How to fix:

Step 1: Update payment method in App Store

Step 2: Retry the charge manually

  • App Store will prompt
  • Or wait for automatic retry

Step 3: Subscription resumes when payment succeeds


Accidental Purchase

If you subscribed by mistake:

Step 1: Cancel subscription immediately

  • Prevents future charges
  • Still have access to end of period

Step 2: Request refund from Apple

  • Must be done through Apple, not Sunu
  • reportaproblem.apple.com
  • Explain situation
  • Apple decides on refund

Apple's refund policy:

  • Case-by-case basis
  • Recent purchases more likely
  • Accidental or children's purchases considered
  • No guarantee of approval

Charged but No Subscription

Steps to resolve:

Step 1: Check if charge is pending

  • May take time to process
  • Check bank/card statement

Step 2: Verify in App Store

  • Check purchase history
  • Confirm subscription active

Step 3: Restore purchases in Sunu

  • Profile > Subscription > Restore Purchases

Step 4: Contact Apple Support if charge shows but no subscription

  • They can verify payment
  • Resolve billing issues
  • Provide receipt

Switching Apple IDs

If You Change Apple ID

What happens:

  • Subscription stays with original Apple ID
  • Cannot transfer subscriptions between Apple IDs
  • Would need to cancel old, subscribe with new

Recommendations:

  • Keep same Apple ID for subscriptions
  • Or let old subscription expire first
  • Then subscribe with new Apple ID

Family Sharing

Does Sunu Support Family Sharing?

Sunu Plus follows the standard Apple and Google subscription rules. If Family Sharing is enabled on your Apple ID or Google account, your subscription is eligible to be shared with family members — each family member signs in with their own Sunu account and gets Plus features.

You do not need Family Sharing to share health data with family — see the Sharing Your Health with Others article for Sunu's built-in Following feature, which works independently of Apple/Google Family Sharing.


Refund Policy

Requesting Refunds

Refunds handled by Apple:

  • Sunu cannot issue refunds directly
  • All purchases through App Store
  • Apple's refund policy applies
  • Must request through Apple

How to request:

Step 1: Visit reportaproblem.apple.com

Step 2: Sign in with Apple ID

Step 3: Find Sunu subscription purchase

Step 4: Select "Request a refund"

Step 5: Choose reason and submit

Apple's decision:

  • Review within 48 hours typically
  • May approve or deny
  • Decision is final
  • Refund to original payment method

Subscription Privacy

What We Know About Your Subscription

We can see:

  • Whether you have active subscription
  • What tier you're subscribed to
  • General subscription timing
  • That's it

We cannot see:

  • Your payment information
  • Credit card details
  • Billing address
  • Payment history
  • Specific purchase details

Apple handles:

  • All payment processing
  • Financial information
  • Purchase records
  • Billing management

💰 Save Money

Annual subscriptions offer meaningful savings compared to monthly billing. If you plan to use Sunu long-term, the annual plan provides the best value.


📱 Manage Through Apple or Google

All subscription management must be done through the App Store (Apple ID) or Google Play Store (Google account). Sunu cannot modify your subscription, process refunds, or change billing directly. This ensures your payment information remains secure with Apple or Google.
